Best Scanner for Jags

Best Scanner for Jags
Hey guys, I'm on the prowl for suggestions for the best scanner for Jaguars. I've got a Blue Driver, doesn't detect the fault I'm experiencing. Need something more attuned to Jag diagnostics. My Jags range from 2005 STR, to 2007 XK, to 2014 F-Type. The stumper for my local mechanics is my STR - which is no lie - a very nice car to drive. You never want to get out of it. Can't imagine ever selling it. I guess I love that car. But since none of my local experts can isolate what's wrong with it, guess I need to invest in a better scanner to see if I can capture a clue or 2. Thanks!

I recently picked up an Icarsoft max(https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-3...ft_cr_max.html) for my S type and I can warmly reccomend it. It is essentially an android tablet with a diagnostic tool built in which is great since its intuitive and easily upgreadeable. You can easily switch between youtube and the diagnostic app. I'll try to list some features i've used and found useful.
- Google play support
- can take snapshot of current state of cars systems
- multi brand compatible with support for manufacturer specific fault codes and lifetime updates
- rugged and quality construction. large screen, kickstand.
- can be powered up without needing to be plugged in
- "service" functions . reset oil service, check battery condition etc.
- Realtime display of sensor data

Agreed. The drawback is that it needs a dedicated PC running XP. Unsure which of its functions are unavailable on the iCarsoft/Autel handheld devices. Perhaps it allows for ECU reflashing? Another drawback is the lack of multi brand support.

Many have reported the icarsoft and Foxwell scanners to cover Jaguar pretty good.
I use the SDD too but it's complicated and quirky to use.
Since you have a 2014 be sure that what ever you get, it can turn off the service engine soon light after you get your oil changed. That will save you from paying a dealer to do it. So one use and the scanner is pretty much paid for. I have and use the Autel HT200 as well as the SDD to perform these functions.
When I had my old 2005 STR I used ScanXL with just a generic ELM327 adapter. I have since upgrade to a OBDLink MX+ OBD adapter. I like that it powers down so no battery drain as I sometimes leave the OBD adapter in the car all the time.
