A Big Hand to Mafioso! (aka MMM)
For his immense time, effort, and expense in the development of a more efficient Jaguar S-Type air intake elbow, it's time for us all to thank our forum member: Mafioso. Without his notice or permission, to me Mafioso is MMM or Mad Man Mafioso. If yas been following the threads on his thoughts to production of the air intake elbow, you witnessed an electrical and mechanical engineer in their madness; test, change, then test again till proven. It took an immense amount of his time and money to put this power adding air intake elbow under the hood of our beloved cats. We estimate an STR will gain nearly 15 hp with the elbow alone. In capping it all...as you all are aware, an internal combustion engine is an air pump...what comes in is presumably pumped out. Ya want more power? Then ya must make a more efficient air pump. We all understand the very limited availability for power building technology for our Jags. Well Mafioso set one of the first blocks down in the foundation for building more S-Type power. I realize we may have personally thanked him, but let's collectively thank MMM.

Enthusiast, did ya do install hi-flow cats? If yes, then ya realize the marked difference in throttle response cause the "Cork came out of her ***". Well, the modded air intake tube will give ya the same effect cause the stock tube is a cork in her mouth (yas need ya mouths washed out with soap-naughty boys). I'm bettin my already tarnished reputation (LOL) that Mafioso's air intake tube coupled with hi-flow cats will alone realize a 30+ hp gain (I'm estimating 20 hp on a n/a "S"). That's no chicken feed folks, cause ya'll will have a 430 hp STR with just $160 in cats and $325 air intake elbow. $475 for 30 hp aint bad, huh? These mods are the foundation for future mods i.e. blower pulley, port/polish/ECU/etc. Get that elbow boys. Some who have already installed the elbow have accolades for it.

Bravo Mafioso, Bravo sir.
I'm totally amped up and will be installing the intake the moment it arrives.
We all know "group buys" can be a tremendous PITA, although with the great group of guys on this forum probably much less so, it is still a heckuva lot of stuff to deal with.
Good show all around!

X2, Mafioso got 13 hp and 7 lbs trq on a dyno just from the elbow alone. That's like adding the hp from a garden lawn tractor. Did yas ever feel the power of a 13 hp lawn tractor? Those suckers can move....wheeee! Def. a huge difference form the 3.5 hp my dad always bought and barely lasted 2 years. It couldn't cut through anything more than 6 inches of grass. LOL! Kidding aside, if yas check out dyno specs from other supercharged cars (not n/a's) you'll see official 10+ hp gains from air intake mod alone. We're examining huge air pumps here not lawn tractor engines. I mentioned in older threads; my ***-dyno felt a full exhaust mod (hi-flow cats down) unleashed more power than a 1.5 pulley. jag79 sums it up...off to a dyno.

As my good buddy (I wish) the good doctor Hunter S. Thompson liked to say "buy the ticket.....take the ride."
Mafioso got a handful of tickets to sell....

On a related note, as an early teen my friends and I would take our lawn tractors to the top of the largest hill in the neighborhood...and race down the hill in neutral. A neighbor who trailed us once in a car (and ultimately shut down our racing tradition) claimed to be pacing us at 40mph.
