Blend door actuator JTIS location

This link is a for the TSB from Jaguar. It has some diagrams but is brief.
http://www.jagrepair.com/images/TSB/...B00066NAS3.pdf
This link is a tech tip for a later model s type but might give general help and knowledge.

I hope it is useful. I have not replaced these on my car.

I hope you don't, man o man it's a pain in the butt and I've barely started! There's a reference to some windscreen panel insulators that no one seems to know a part number for at Jaguar.. The JTIS link to "air bag" removal ends in seat belt section when the console and steering wheel and airbag have to be removed for the instrument panel to be removed.....
The bulletin you sent (it's the same one twice?) says there's 4! on the 2006 anyway.
I may have to give up the wrench on this one and cough up a third mortgage.

Sorry about the missing link for the later model it is here. Even if it isn't directly useful.
Tech Tip: Quieting a Ticking or Bubbling Blend Door Noise on Jaguars
I had a look for the windscreen panel insulator information without any luck.
Here is another link to the actuators. There is instructions for the Air Door Actuator which may be the easiest one to start on.
Jaguar Workshop Manuals > S-Type (X200) V8-4.2L (2005) > Heating and Air Conditioning > Air Door, HVAC > Air Door Actuator / Motor, HVAC > Component Information > Locations

I assume you have already run the software to diagnose the % condition of each actuator - even at 75% you might want to consider replacing.
On my STR, blend door actuators were about $16 each, Jag's time 0.8 hour each, and part numbers were:
XR8 57885 ..........Defrost vent / register blend door actuator Qty: 1
XR8 57886 ..........Footwell vent / duct blend door actuator Qty: 1
XR8 57887 ..........Instrument panel blend door actuator Qty: 1
XR8 57888 ..........Recirculation blend door actuator Qty: 1
Hope this helps - good luck.

I hope somebody finally does this repair at home and takes pictures.
Jaguar only allows a very short time (.8 Hours) to replace all 4 blend doors and they are not very expensive. But maybe it's .8 hours for each blend door?
That would give a total of 3.2 hours?
But we keep getting posts about how hard they are to change?

OK so I got this today, so there is 3 for 2001? #'s 11 12 & 13, although I'm a bit suspicious because I know one's located right behind the glove box. And that would make 4.
Now to just get the codes done.
Thanks for the input.
P.S. I can give some feedback. And will try to take some pics of the first two so far.
Oh and I asked about repair cost, he said "as needed"
Update. Most easy to get to, the one on the right top side, get at it via the radio removal. One person holding there and the other reaching up. Left side I can see them clearly looking up from under the dash, seems to be alot of room to get hands etc in there to remove them. 4th one is behind the glove box, easy.

There is no codes. At all.
Removed all the sensors, cleaned them, they all have the same resistance on the meter.
If one side is hot air and the other side is normal outside air, then the motor may be irrelevant because the heat would be happening on both sides if it was one of those?
Am I barking up the wrong tree? Could the DCCV that I installed recently be defective.

I replaced my DCCV without any difference from the new to old part. But I did not return it. So don't know for sure if it was defective (mine was also hot one side and cold the other side in the car). However, it was a cheap non genuine brand.
Before you replace it. You might be able to tell if it is the DCCV by warming up the car and feeling the heater hoses that come from it. That is: one heater hose should be hotter than the other if the DCCV has failed and seized up on one side.
It would also be worthwhile testing the wiring going into the DCCV and the DCCV connection.
Here is a link that has good information and there are further useful links from this site.

I may just replace the upper motor actuators on both sides and see if that's the problem, there's really nothing left to try. If that doesn't fix it. it's going in. I admit defeat.

Well, it was about 18 months ago. My indie has a fairly close relationship with a Jag dealer, and for that price I decided not to get involved. So I assumed that's where he got 'em.
I went back and rechecked the invoice and lo and behold, 2 of the actuators were actually $30.68 (Canadian, that's about US $24.

You will need much patience - my indie's best man took about 30 mins to change the 2 easily accessible ones at the front, and a LOT longer to change the other 2.
I assume you have already run the software to diagnose the % condition of each actuator - even at 75% you might want to consider replacing.
