Default Bought a Type R today !!

Hey guys i just bougt a 03 type R today... Paid $7,000, 127K miles. really, really clean. . He said has a brand new radiator.

Only problem it has is a taillight. You know how the taillights have 2 circles. Well one is out and it looks like they are LED's. So do i have to replace the whole taillight?

Here she is, Had to wash her up !!

Wow! Great looking car. I don't believe these came with LED lights stock. Probably just a bulb replacement is in order.

Welcome to the forum, cmoney23...

That is one stunning car, especially after 127000 miles. Maybe you know something about washing cars that I don't!

Welcome and congrats cmoney! Our 03 STR's are twins. U may have to replace the entire light assembly due to the previous owner gutting the internal lens as a means to fit an LED light assembly. Is that dark tint she's wearing? IMO, take it off. We have so much to discuss....

Nice Buy! There are quite a few of us here running the 03 STRs!! I dont know if they have butchered your exitsting tail lights, but its actually really easy to change out the bulbs. Just take out the two t-bolts that hold the trunk liner on and gently pull back on the liner to expose the tail light housing.

You definitely will enjoy it and as my good friend Seth (bfsgross) stated we have much to talk about!

I have been agressively modding my 03STR and have several great posts on what has worked and what doesnt. Take a look at my photo album and you can see some of the mods I have added over the past year. I am the original owner of my "FSTKAT" so I know every little creak, scratch and peculiarity of the car!

Do some digging, but definitely start with dumping that horrible stock air box for the Mina Performance Intake for starters!

OK cmoney, the niceities are over. It's time now to either swap in new fluids, etc. or go right to the Mina intake, Caldoofy intake tube, Mina 1.7 pulley, Magnaflow hi-flow cats and Tru-X center muffler, 16" resonators and Dynomax VT mufflers = est. 450 chp and trq. Andele Andele! Chop Chop!

Yes definitely, pulley, intake, exhaust, is about good for 50hp, and really wakes up the STR,

It's your destiny. Quit trying to purdy up your truck and instill 50+ blower whining hp into that beautiful, elegant, rare, and powerful 03 STR.
