Default Brake and ABS lights on when driving. No comp codes. Message about parking brake.

There are no codes ($1500 scanner was used). Is parking brake module attached to rear ECM? (right rear quarterpanel).
Which year to which year will fit 03?
I'll get it tomorrow from junk yard. Is itt a suspect? I had water in trrunk, but trunk seal looks OK.
Thanks.
PS. There is noise coming from radio area, is it parking brake motor?

Cost of scanner not relevant (if only).
Full workshop manual free download.

Water in trunk can cause endless faults not just a module. Module is silent.

yes the parking brake module is attached to the panel that mounts the RECM . and is a separate module. part no#s would need to match ! and the exact year would be wise! un likely to just die with no codes . maybe try another scanner .
the park brake motor is under the car so separate noise i would think .
no modules like water . you will want to remove your tail lights and re seal them before risking more damage .

Like what?

We have thousands who don't apparently find that...

I believe, I have bad ABS module (most likely), second suspect is brake module in trunk. I have another ABS module, I'll know in 20 min or so.
ABS and brake light stayed on ONLY when car is moving, so yesterday I checked codes while car was moving at idle speed, I guess 2 mph, there were no codes! It is definitely one of modules! Bosch ABS modules die all the time in all cars. We'll see.

Your OBD tool probably does not read the ABS module - which is where the codes would be. Most only read the PCM (as per the law).

In the other thread that you have open about the instrument cluster, you said the car had been standing for 8 months.

have you checked the battery as these faults can and do come up if the battery voltage is too low. It should be 12.6 v when fully charged.

charge over night and check the voltage after turning the lights for 3 mins.

Each time the battery is disconnected the EPB must be reset to configure the winch motor/module set points.

The EPB module has no idea where the ON/OFF points are until you set them.

Reset the EPB and make sure the battery is GOOD/CHARGED.

Had much the same problem, and upon research, it seems that the battery was about to chuck it in and low voltage was likely the problem. The battery was the original, installed in 2002 and this was 2016 so I felt the battery had done it duty. Sure enough, the new battery results in no lights and everything operating as usual. So..... check your battery, cheap and useful.
