Welcome,
I'm about three weeks ahead of you. I just bought an 05 stype base model...my first Jag. If your new to this site you're going to be pretty blown away by all the knowledge and support you'll receive. I thought I'd give you a quick list of things I manage to fix/replace with the help of this site. Sure enough my coolant tank leaked at the top nipple (within a week of buying it) replaced it in 15-20 minutes. Replaced the cabin filter easily after viewing the video. You may not gain access to all parts of this site initially but eventually you should. My steering wheel squeeked (or so I thought) until I looked around the forums and discovered that the power steering pump radiates a sound up the steering column and 50ml of additive will get rid of the noise. They were right on and I'd a bet money it was coming from the wheel. I've ordered solid one piece lugs to replace the stock two piece lug nut.
If you've searched brake fluid and bleed brakes you'll find a ton of advice. I too have got brake fluid on my list. Let me add this, the 05 or maybe the 06 was the last year Jag performed free maintenance until 2010. So depending on your mileage and your routine services it may be your brake fluid is not that old. Jag says every two years but I've read 2-3 years is fine.
Best of luck with your "new" ride and enjoy this site.

To help with more of your head scratchers later, you should put in your signature details of your vehicle: year, model and engine!

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
