This information is from an early x200, S type from page 95 of the Jaguar Workshop Manual.
Rear Lamp Assembly - Bulb Renewal
The rear lamp assembly has the following bulbs:
- Reverse lamp, type P21W.
- Stop/tail lamp, type P21/4W.
- Fog lamp, type P21W
- Tail lamp, type R5W.
- Direction indicator, type PY21W.
Ensure that the lamps and ignition switch are OFF
before removing any bulbs.
Here is a link to download the S type handbooks.

I am not exactly sure, but think you need to have a number of post to the forum prior to downloading the handbook.

I just went through this with my left brake light bulb. I removed the bulb and took it to the dealership to ensure that they pull the correct part number. The most important thing is to make sure that the little short prongs are in the same position on the new bulb and also make sure it's the same wattage. Also notice that one prong is longer than the other When I replaced a brake light bulb earlier in the year on the right side, the wattage was too high and it burned much brighter for the tail light. It should be a dual filament and 4 watts. Also pay close attention to the orientation of the bulb in the socket and which way it'll need to twist slightly to be installed. I had mine twisting the opposite way into the socket and it still didn't work. Took me a few days to figure out that it only need to twist in the other direction when installing. Good luck.
