Default Brake Pads & Rotors

Hi guys... I have had issues with my brakes as you may have seen in another thread. what I want to know is what is the best brake pads & rotors for my car? I have a 2004' S-Type 4.2.... I want to eliminate the squeeking and cut down on the brake dust as well. I emailed Ken but I think with Hurricane Ike he has his hands full. After a new problem/sound has developed I'm thinking of changing all rotors and pads. [:@]

Get powerslot. Or Brembo. A Brembo brake system can cost $1800 in parts alone. Worth it. CQUENCE on ebay is good as well. But then you have to get a mechanic to install them. Mechanics hate when you bring in your parts cuz they make no money and do not warranty the parts you supply them.

Did you try replacing all(front andrear)pads to ceramic? If that doesnt work, have the rotorsTURNED dont by brand new ones. BTW you dont need BREMBO they are very good but you dont need to spend 2k on a brake job unless you really really want to.

People get screwed on brakes b/c they are clueless on what they really need.......dont be the that person.

Just had a break job done on my 05 S-type.

Ceramic pads, Syn. amsoil change and alignment for 269 out the door, you gotta know how to haggle....its the easiest to do in a bad economy......

Update: Today after work I took my car back to the shop that did my front pads because it was making a weird rubbing sound. Anyway, problem wasn't resolved so I took it to a guy recommended by a friend and after talking to him I realized this guy knew his stuff. He works on race cars and high performance cars and said that the rotors were never touched. The pads were just changed and the rotors now hada glaze on them. He also said the rotors and pads are grinding into one another and that is where the noise is coming from. You could see the groove on the rotor. He is going to get me a price on new front pads and front rotors as well. I should have gone to him in the first place!!! Live & learn....
