Default Brembo caliper - piston and pin damaged

I have S Type R 2003 with the Brembo calipers.

I'm replacing all rotors and pads and I bought 4 caliper repair kits (dust boots and seals) for all the calipers but one piston at the front is damaged. It took everything to finally get it out but a good part of the finish on the piston is gone. I bent one of the pins of the EPB caliper while trying to remove it.

Is there a place where I can buy pistons? Are the pins for the EPB caliper available somewhere?

Alsom, where can I find complete rebuilt calipers for the front? I see some Centric (CE142.20020 and 142.20019) but I'm not sure if it actually fits and they don't look as good...

thanks

The EPB pins - not sure about aftermarket supply, but you could try a site sponsor like Nally Jaguar that has dealer parts.

As for the replacement caliper - suggest you look for a used replacement. You want another Brembo that matches exactly. May be hard to find, but if you can't find one online, call a foreign salvage yard. Most of them have access to nationwide salvage parts stock, and can get you the part. This would be less expensive than going new from Jaguar for sure. Try Motorcars Ltd, they might be able to hook you up.

I looked at that Centric caliper. It does look identical, although it looks like they are only showing front left in stock, is that the side you need? Or are you just going to use the pistons out of it? If you go that route, I'd be tempted to call Rock Auto and ask for another picture of the actual part, you wanna do a little extra homework on this one.
More Information for CENTRIC 14220020

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I think those are rebuilt OEM calipers though you'd probably have to re-paint and and put decals on them?

Im in a similar situation. I have one brand new caliper and one that needs rebuilding as the pistons are shot.
The centric websites are very unclear as to what the replacement parts looks like (are they brembo pieces? are they powdercoated? etc..)

As I see it there are a couple of options:

1. Buy a centric part and hope that it matches.

2. Measure the pistons and contact Zechausen Racing for replacement "Stop Tech" pistons
Replacement Rotors and pads

3. Send my caliper away to this shop:
» Suffering With Brownbos? Caliper Refinishing by Centric Brakes Road /// Race Engineering

I am leaning towards option 3 as they will powdercoat and pressure test the parts before being sent back.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried a Brembo dealer? I have Brembo race calipers on my track car. They're used in Nascar and the similarities to the calipers on the STR are striking. You might just have to measure the pins you have and they can send you something for a lot less. These aren't complicated pins. They will have seals and probably pistons as well. Though the race pistons are very different so maybe not.

Don't expect then to have a listing for Jaguar.

I hope Rock Auto sends you what they have depicted on their site, because they do indeed have a correctly powedercoated/lettered caliper showing as the part. IF you don't get exactly that, then I'd be pretty irritated. Did you call or email them first?

Fingers crossed for you if you didn't check it out further.....best of luck and let us know what you get!!!

Cool Stuff, please try to post a picture of the actual part you receive. I am very eager to find out if it is similar to OEM.

Update!

Just received my calipers from rockauto. As verified before ordering with rockauto, they're rebuilt OEM but surprise! one is silver and the other is black. It comes with the hardware (guide pins, metal clip, banjo bolt and washers) but only the silver one had them. It comes with pads too. Now I'm trying to figure out the return/exchange/refund with the customer service.

As for the caliper pin for the EPB, I machined one down from an intake valve.
