Bricked PCM ERR 0xc
Hello,
i'm Volker from germany and i'm driving a 1999 S-Type v8 since a short time.
unfortunately the PCM is locked, i use IDS and a mongoose cable and can not access the PCM.
even during configuration I cannot get a connection to the PCM
now i have read the Thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-ecu-226490/
and the article from motorcarman and found the file Jaguar 32-bit ECM recovery procedure.doc
.
unfortunately the pictures are missing and it is for facelift, 2003.
this also applies to pre facelift
how do i get back to the PCM?
thanks for your help, volker

Is it a clone cable and/or a cracked IDS? They feel the most likely.
Next, have you checked the wiring, pins, fuses, etc for the OBD?
BTW you have a PCM sometimes known as a Ford PTEC / PCM150.
Have you tried an ordinary OBD tool to see if it can get normal OBD data?
Do you know how the PCM apparently got into what you call "locked"?
Also, a vital issue: have you checked your 4.0 has got the revised chain tensioners etc? It'll destroy its engine if not, sooner or later. Note: updating them is NOT an item carried out during any service but does need doing.

Hello,
it's a china clone mongoose cable, IDS is 130. not on vm.
Pinpoint test is done, wiring checked more than one time.
normal OBD can't connect.
i bought the car, it's been standing still there for nine years.
it has got the latest chain tensioners from me and runs good,
but it keeps giving the error message: transmission malfunctioned
and then shift harder.

can you tell me a source of supply for an "original" cable?
as far as i know, no originals have been built for several years.
unfortunately, used ones are also very rare, and how can i distinguish them from clones?
drewtech also does not offer cables anymore.
also very expensive new cables are china clones.
