Broken Low A/C Charge T Splice fitting with R134a Charge Port
Hello,
I have been looking for over a year now for a method to replace my broken port which is welded into the rest of the AC piece (truly smart...), I have tried removing the valve using a special screwdriver made for tyre valve, sadly nothing, it is beyond destroyed and I have no acces to remove it.
Now the thing I found and thought to adapt is the following, it's a T splice with the R134 Low A/C port, they are made in Atlanta, USA and they are test rated to 2600 PSI according to their site, I am thinking to cut the pipe where the low AC charge port is and add the T splice in it's stead, but by no means I am no chemist but I know that R134 is highly poisonous and inflamable. What are my chances of not blowing up the car and eventualy not visiting the ER?
The other option is to find a scrap Jaguar and take the low ac pipe line from it and try to replace the entire unit itself main issue is that my Jag is an S Type R and good luck finding a Low A/C Pipeline for an R.
The only thing I am in need now is to know exactly what diameter the A/C Pipeline is on the Low side.
Thank you kindly!
This is the port and the site to it, incase anyone needs it in the near future. I will try and get 2 pieces in Romania

Have you tried to find the correct part?
Do you have the part number?
One thing I have found is Jaguar is very good about supplying parts even on older models. The prices might be high but at least you should be able to order one?
I have had no luck splicing AC lines.
Here is a diagram from the wonderful JPART version of JEPC.
Now I do thank you as you did post your VIN which is critical to finding parts.
This is available from Jaguar? I do see it has been superseded by XR854251 which was the last part number in the above parts list. Expensive at almost $500.
This may not be the right part as I don't see a service port on the tube?
Here is a used part picture. Is this what your looking for?
I do see a service port on this hose but it's the high side one?
Jaguar XR841837. Cheaper at around $120.
Do either one of these look like what your looking for?

That's good news as that part is much cheaper and easier to get. And $120 is not bad for a factory part either.
Now I don't know if you can get it easily in Romania or not?
Looks like Jaguar has superseded XR841837 to either XR833141 or (XR852775) too. So further research on XR852775 would be wise since the picture of this part number looks different than the tube I posted above?

I like the splice idea. The freon is easy to discharge and the splice area is easy to get to. Just need a tubing cuttter and install. The entire line replacement looks like a nightmare to get access and get out then back in by looking at my car. 2006 str. Same line. You can get a cheap pair of digital calipers if possible

I am still trying to get in touch with Airsept they are really hard to get to, I still don't know a price for the splice r134a the pipe diameter is 15mm LOW A/C in case anyone is wondering.
I haven't forgotten about the thread I started (life got in the way) the entire pipe assembly is 500€ here in Romania, so yeah I will be trying this method if the splice is cheap. Truly a nightmare to get this A/C working.
