Default Buying an S-Type V6 3.0 next week. some issues, help needed

Hello,
This is my first post so please bear with me in case it is not as it should be (hopefully I posted it at the correct place).

I will probably purchase a 2002 facelift model S-Type next week which was imported from the UK to Sweden, and has full service history etc since new. The Swedish MOT company however complained regarding a few issues.
I am wondering what these issues might be caused by, and how I can fix them (I am quite competent in fixing cars).
The complaints were the following:

Fault code (from the swedish mot company, so not the p.... code) 8.2.1.1. Fault in engine electronics "warns for fault in the system"
Lambda value "too high idle"

The owner tells me that he has fixed the issue before, but that it has come up again, he said that last time it was related to the spark plugs (sounds too easy to me).
Any insight in what this might be would be greatly appreciated.
Everything else seems wonderful regarding the car. No rust etc.

I will bring my OBDII reader when I go to see the car next week.

Kind regards, Karolina

You will need the actual code(s)...

but... are you able to work on the car yourself? Many of the common faults are fairly easy to fix and cheap if you DIY (do it yourself) but if you use a competent mechanic obviously the cost will be much more.

Okay, I asked the seller for the codes. Otherwhise I will get them with my OBD reader.
Yes I have changed timing belts, coils, spark plugs,etc.. cleaned carburettors and such things without any issues My significant other even complains about the amount of tools which I buy (our storage is full to the brim)
I always change my own oil + filter /fuel filter etc.

Unfortunately the seller does not know the actual codes, so I will have to check them when I go to look at the car.

You need a laptop running xp service pack3 or windows7 32 bit.....the software can be purchased on ebay....usually sdd version 130 or 131 works the best,....the major item is the vehicle interface....most use a mongoose JLR clone like i do....click on my username and then threads started by me.....look for sdd purchase and read through it....,i have a few sdd versions on my google drive i could share with you if you decide to move forward with sdd

Ah yes I see. A bit difficult to find the cable though (or your thread), do you mind linking? I have a thinkpad from 2005 which would fit the bill perfectly, will uninstall Ubuntu and install MS windows then

Thank you!

Since I'm going on Wednesday to see the car I'm wondering if there are any codes that I should really be aware of when I check? Like some which would mean it would not be safe to drive it home. Thank you

Post the codes and there will be answers.....one of the main ones for a no drive is related to the cat converters..,..it will also have the check engine light flashing.....either way someone will definitely help you out

haha thank you ( I guess?), I will post any codes which might be present also is it difficult to change the brake lines? two were a bit rusty, and needs to be changed. I got a quote from my jaguar mechanic that it would cost approx 500£ to fix that, but I would prefer to do it myself
