Default a/c blows hot - jag tech assistance would be great!!!

I've got an 03 s-type with a/c blowing hot on all but one vent. Common problem from what I can gather. Here is what I've done.

Changed DCC Valve and Evap discharge sensor. blows hot anytime the engine is warm (even on *low*). Had the DCC Valve out before I bought one, and cycled it with 12v battery power, and one side did not seem to move completely, so that is what prompted the dcc valve change.

I have a JTIS CD for the card, so while had DCC Valve out the 2nd time, tested voltage/continuity to the fuse box it is good. Tested continuity from the two other pins to the pins going into the a/c module, they are good.

The contacts were a bit discolored going to the dcc valve, so I cleaned them with a small file so that they are clean and put it all back together.

Also when I had it apart, I had another person look at the dcc valve when powering on the car. Does the DCC Valve cycle when the car is turned on? Because one side cycled and the other did not.

I am suspecing the Climate Control Module now (perhaps a dcc valve failure broke the cc module?), since I would assume that both sides should cycle on power-up not just one... But wanted a 2nd opinion by a jag tech if possible.

Also, anyone know where you gan get these refurb'd? Tons of refurbishers on ebay for the older units (pre-2003), but I'm not seeing anyone fixing the 03-up units..

Thanks!
Justin

Sounds like the ac board to me. There are test to determine but you need the wiring diag and dvom. Orrrrr just take out the module and open it. Youll see 1 or 2 burned marks right on top of the circuit board. Yep those are th eground circuit that short out when the ddcv cause a cross short within the solenoid housings. Just take it to someone that repairs circuit boards like a pc repair place and have them repair the circuits

its the AC control panel, unless you have navigation. Then its on the side as a seperate unit on the side of the HVAC unit

fantastic! Thanks for the response. If the damage is that visible I can probably fix it, I own a network consulting firm, and one of my friends used to fixe gaming equipment at C.E.C.. I will pull it apart this weekend and confirm the damage.

I thought the DCCV Blew up a couple transistors on the board when it went, and you had to desolder them and replace. It just burns out a ground trace? What's the fix? A Jumper wire between the now burned out trace?

(Once the offending DCCV has been replaced obviously)

Brutal, you are awesome!!!

Yup it was a burnt ground trace, just jumpered it and put it all back together and it works!!!

I took pics, so I am going to post a how-to. or perhaps not and make it a side business on ebay LOL..
