Unhappy A/C Compressor SHOT!

Hey fellas,

My compressor started to make a noises ( kinda of like when a tractor-trailer engine breaks ) this morning followed by an oily smell. When I got to work I popped the hood and turn only the ac and and the noise started right up. My question is when replacing the compressor, what other parts do i need to also replace? And, if there are alternative names to these parts please let me know that too.

Thanks much!

Mike

DOH! i should know better!

it's a 2000 3.0.....

It seems as that it recommended to replace not only the compressor but, the receiver/dryer, condenser, and expansion valve.

Would this correct or is there more?

When working with A/C systems there are quite a few special tools you need, so this might be better to order and let the professionals install.. Unless you have done one before, then this one should be cake.. Eric

Only R-12 & R134A compatible lubricants & refrigerants must be used. Installation must include the replacement of the Drier/Accumulator, Expansion Device, and Condenser if condenser is of the type that can not be flushed! Always replace o-rings and gaskets when a refrigerant line or a component is disconnected. Be sure o-rings are thoroughly lubricated with mineral oil. Installation must be done by a professional technician. Buyer must provide proof of work done in order for the warranty to be valid.

Question Requesting Tech Dude's Help - please.

Yea, i saw that and read all of that also. I'm not doing the work my mechanic is.
I was just hoping a tech would chime in and give me more specifics so i can get
all the required parts needed.
This is what I have so far:

compressor
expansion valve
condenser
drier
