Default A/C Problems

I joined the forum because of transmission concerns, but have had an A/C problem for a couple of years. Thought I would check in with all of you and see what you thought.

I have had it in for service, but only charged the A/C. My problem is that hot air blows on the driver and passenger side vents while cooler air blows in the middle. Charging the system doesn't change this at all. Usually, I just turn off the A/C system while driving.

Where should I start?
