Default A/C Problems

I had to replace my heater control valve a few months ago after which the heat works perfectly. Now that the nice weather is coming around I have noticed that I have no A/C.

I thought I needed freion so I added r134a refrigerant per instructions and I noticed that the A/C during tests seemed to be working. I added enough refrigerant needed but when I drove the car a few hours later the A/C didnt work at all.

I am of the opinion that I have a leak but want to make sure it couldnt be the A/C Compressor.

Any ideas?

Thanks, but I need to limit my costs. I've been doing much of the recent work myself and really need a "self solution."

Sounds like you have a leak. Diagnosing and fixing is probably cheap for an a/c guy but expensive to DIY. There's a time to stop DIY.
