CAN BUS Problems

I own a 2005 2.7D S Type with 97k miles on the clock. For the last few months after about 15 minutes driving restricted performance comes up. My local garage has changed one of the airflow sensors and now wants to change the EGR valves. I have agreed as quite often the OBD shows there is a problem here but yesterday when he checked the memory of the OBD the following codes (apart from the P codes)appeared U0121, U0155,U0103,UO101,U0104. All codes appear a "sporadic". I have recently changed the battery (apart from buying a CTEK charger) fearing that this was the cause. Any suggestions welcome not only by me but my local "garagiste".

My only two experiences with French garagiste in Arras and Menton left me with the firm belief they should stick to hammering tractors. ![Icon Lol](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
For anything more than basic Pxxxx powertrain codes, your local garagiste is unlikely to have a compatible scantool to communicate with your Jaguar and the listed Uxxxx codes are therefore misleading.
The clue to the restricted performance should be in the Pxxxx codes.
My preferred approach to troubleshooting is to first read and record the DTC's then clear them. Next run the vehicle again and see which reset. The reason being that often DTC's can be stored or pending which are irrelevant to the problem at the time. Of course, a compatible scantool is essential as is using the Jaguar DTC listing and not a generic lookup.
