Default Car Windows Lowered by Themselves. Need Exorcism?

Hello, everyone! I've had my 2003 STR for just a short while but loooove the way she rides! Wow, what a pleasure.

Anyway, had some strange behavior from my STR and want to see if anyone experienced anything similar. My wife went out to drive it and when she got there, all the windows were rolled down and the car was unlocked. She remembers the windows being up when she parked it last night (and I remember seeing the windows up this morning before I left for work).

Additionally, there is a DSC Not Available Error that started up again (it has been to the dealer twice to resolve this).

My first question: is it possible there was some sort of short or electrical failure that would cause both problems?

Second question: is there any way she might have caused the windows to all go down by pressing some combination of keys on the remote? I didn't think there was a setting that would lower all the windows at once. Still, this doesn't explain the DSC fault appearing again (just seems too coincidental).

Anyway, if anyone has any insight, I would love to hear it. She'll be going back to the dealer on Monday to figure this out.

Did she press the wrong button? If you press and hold the unlock button it will initiate global opening, should unlock the car and open all windows and the sunroof if you have one.
Can't help with the DSC fault but it seems to be a pretty common one which clears for most folks when the car is stopped and restarted.

Thank you for the reply, this is exactly what happened! It was just coincidence that the two happened at the same time.

And the DSC fault did clear after restarting. Has anyone figured out why this happens?

Anyway, thanks for the reply!

If the DSC fault illuminates, it has a problem.
Global opening is common. People put remote in pocket or a purse and the button is depressed accidentally.

FactoryJaguarTech, thanks for the reply. Do you mean to say that if the DSC fault illuminates but later clears after a restart that it should still be looked at by a mechanic, that is, that the problem persists even if the fault clears?

Yes. The light does illuminate for no reason, whether it resets with ignition cycle or not. Do you have the codes that were pulled out previous repairs?

I'm confused a little. You say that if the DSC light comes on but resets on restart then there is still a problem but you also say that the light does illuminate for no reason. This to me means that it illuminates for nothing. Or do you mean that it doesn't illuminate for no reason? Mine comes on from time to time after going thru deep snow or slipping on some ice but after I restart the messege goes of and the DSC does seem to work fine.

I apologize if I was not clear. The light does not come on for no reason.
The track light should flash if your wheels slip,ie on snow or ice.
If the dsc not available comes on, then thereis an underlying problem.

Tech, thanks again for the reply. I'll take a look at my paperwork and see if there are any codes listed as part of the repair that took care of the DSC fault.
