CarPc install question for 2003 S Type R
Hello, everyone. I have a 2003 S Type R with Nav and the Alpine audio system.
I am working on a CarPc that would add satellite radio, OBDII engine code reading, bluetooth, MP3 playaback, etc. all running through Centrafuse Auto.
My question is about the audio coming from any of these sources. For most CarPC installs, people will either hook into their headunit Aux port (which I don't believe we have in the stock Alpine system) or go directly into the factory amplifier.
I recognize the following questions might be better suited to MP3Car.com or a car audio forum, but I wanted to get some input from Jag owners, especially those who have installed aftermarket radios.
My first question is what happens to all the other audio sources after the install? Can I still hear Nav voice commands and the factory radio?
If so, how do you switch between the Nav/Factory Radio and any other sound sources from the CarPC? Is it basically, whichever one is on, that's the one that I hear through the speakers? If both are toggled, would I hear bother overlapping?
Sorry if this is very basic, I'm better with the PC side of this project than I am with the install. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I really depends upon what you want.
Personally, I thought about CarPC but it would be more complex for my wife to use. I decided to go with aftermarket Nav/MP3/Radio/Bluetooth unit (Pioneer). I will be replacing factory stereo with this.
For my car, Mazda6 with Bose sound, I decide to keep the factory stereo (due to dash-kit price ~$200) and install NAV/MP3/BT unit and place audio output to Bose's Aux-in.
For you, if you want to keep the Jag Navi unit, it would be best to plug-in to Aux-in port. But I don't think Jag has one. I'm not sure if it's even possible to go directly into the factory amp. The factory amp usually have different signal requirements.
