I have a 2000 Jaguar s type4.0 V8and the previous owner and ran straight pipes on the car and it sound good butit is running rich, burning gas fast, and the mechanic said the 02 sensor was burn out. I bought the 02 sensors for it and wanted to put some Cats. back in because it is burnng my gas. I am in alaska so I don't have a jaguar dealer to take it to but I am wanting to know where can I find a aftermarket cat that is direct fit and do its job. I call a catalytic converter warehouse and they carry the cat. but they told me it will not work because they said I needed a 50 state cat because it is a low emission vehicle according to the decal under the hood I had to read out to them. My question all together is can I just get a DEC cat 48 state and it be fine or do I have to have the 50 State legal cat. Can you tell me when i can get the cats. from because the dealers online are asking 1030 for them. Please help

wade, I would just go to your local muffler shop and ask them about there universal high flow cats(shops here in vegas carry magnaflow) they should be from $80 to 120$ so its cheaper than oem or the dec cat.and im pretty sure there 49 state legal you should be okay
