Default Catalytic converter removal

I am having trouble removing the clamps that attach the rear of the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe. Any suggestions?

On my car I made judicious use of an angle grinder to cut through the bolts. Then I bought new clamps and stole the bolts and spacers from them (the original clamps are welded to the pipe, so I reused them).

Welcome to the forum.

Are you replacing the catalytic converters? Which year and engine do you have? Here's my experience with an '02 V6:

The last picture in that thread shows the clamps, to give you an idea what you're fighting:

Several people have mentioned it was not difficult to remove the entire exhaust system, versus just the cats. You may find it easier to work on these clamps that way.

Roger that appreciate the info. I was thinking of taking the exhaust souped down completely to do that so glad to hear there isn’t and easier way. This is tough enough lol

Default Cat converter removal

2003 jaguar stype r supercharged v8 4.2l. Trying to get the clamps that hold connect the car converter to the exhaust pipe. Loosened up enough to pull the car out of the exhaust pipe. Any suggestions?
