What I don't hear is the compatibility of the cable connections. For example, If pin one in the radio is audio left channel then pin one in the changer must be the same. I am still trying to find out if radio and player manufactures provided cable specific to each model or they agreed on universal set up.

Sorry about the wrong forum. On the xjs the output/input from the cassette radio is a 5-6 pin DIN plug. I was trying to determine what the function of each pin was by analyzing the input/output of the radio. Once knowing thsi I could know if I could modify any changer to function with the Jag radio

I know we don't have the same cars, but I can't find the cable in the XJS. Perhaps it is in the same location as your car. Quoting you:
"I did find the 12 pin plug buried in a harness in tape at left rear."
Could you be more detailed: Driver side/Passenger side LHD RHD???? Left Rear: Would you detail Rear, please
Thanks for any help....anybody!!!
