Default CD player keeps ejecting CDs

Hi all!

Tried to search the forum for solution but didn't find any.

Here is the problem:

CD unit below the touch screen keeps ejecting discs. For example, I start the car, load the CD, drivimg for 15-20min, turn off the car, start the car again and CD player ejects the disc. I put the disc again, CD player tries to load it and after 20 seconds disc comes out. After I leave the car to cool down for 10 min, CD player works normaly. It seems to me that the CD player is overheating or something.

Does anyone had similar problem?

Thank you in advanced for your help!

is the disc an original or a copy? as sometimes the copies either get corrupted/scratched or not burnt correctly and the player can not read it so will eject it.

As Barney mentions - most car CD players will (eventually) have a problem playing non-original CDs. If this is the case, try an original one in the player to see if the problem still exits.

Disc which I'm trying to play is copy in wave format, since mp3 is not supported. I have also noticed that Verbatim discs are better for reproduction then Traxdata. I will try tomorrow with some original discs and see what will happen. But I think I will need to install ACM.

Thank you all for your help!

I have tried today some other non-original CDs, and they are working all fine. Probably disc wasn't burnt correctly.

Thak you for your help!

It may not be that the copy disc wasn't burnt correctly, but some CD players as they get older will only play original CDs - not copies, as the burn is different & the player can distinguish the difference. I have a great sound system in my Acura that stopped playing copies that I had burnt but will still play originals.

Default bad laser or load belt

I owned a big electronic repair shop for many years and most problems like this are either due to the disc not fully loading into the home postion or it could be a bad laser.

if the unit only plays certain discs the laser could be getting weak. Lasers are a throw back to the vaccuum tubes days and when they get weak play can become intermittent

A throw back? Why would you say that? These ones don't operate along any similar lines do they? You sound like you think they're stuck in the days of ruby rods!!

I suppose is better to buy ACM then new CD player if the laser is going towards the end. I assume there is no sound quality difference between ACM and CD player, right?

I was referring to the laser itself. Laser can exhibit some weird problems when they start to get weak. Examples would be you unit will play some discs but not others, the player tries to load but the laser can't read the toc on the disc. The throwback reference was only to show that a laser continues to get weaker and weaker as it is used.

These are solid state lasers. They can get dirty or fail but where's your evidence that they get weaker?
