Cell Phone built in or after market
I am not a Jag owner but I have a user who owns one and I need to get some information if possible. The owners has a S-Type 4.2 2005 Jag and states he has a cell phone built into the vehicle. The provider was AT&T and is now Cingular. I have been told all older AT&T phones will be put out of service. If this device is “built” into the vehicle how would I go about upgrading this device. Or is this cell phone really an after market produce in the car.

Unless he actually has the headset in the car, jaguar pulled most of those out before selling the car. They installed the bluethooth box enabling you to use your more modern phone.
If your friend still has the headset...he is in big trouble unless he has deep pockets. Replacing/upgrading that phone is not worth the cost, unless he/she absolutly wants it as a wow factor.
Replacing it with the bluethooth is the better way to go....but, either option will be expensive.
