Central Locking
#21
I wonder if there is some control logic causing the lock actuators to continue running until at least one provides feedback that the locked position has been reached. If none reach the locked position, perhaps the lock command will time out after X number of seconds. Just a thought.

Anyone take apart an actuator? Ordered 4 used ones that the company out California said are working to find out when the mechanic installed 3 so far, one was completely dead and the other two didn't work. So far the company would take them back for a refund, but I already now owe the mechanic around $300 labor. So we decided to take one of mine apart and noticed the big yellow gear in it has a metal piece in a slot on it to move the lock/unlock. And it was cracked at that point and the metal "cam" piece fell out. A stressful joint from locking and unlocking would eventually break the plastic there. Very bad design. Now just have to try and fix things because at $300 each new, not an option for me. I would think some company would rebuild these.
