Default Changing Battery

This may be a bit of a stupid question, but it appears my battery died on my S Type Remote. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get it open to change the battery, and what type of batter I need to replace in it.

Okay I'll see if I can't check the batteries when I get it done.

Hopefully it's just a battery swap and its not the same thing my Lexus did. That was an aftermarket system though. Turned out on that one that the programming somehow reset. []

Yes look at the manual, you need a small scredriver to prise the sections of the remote apart and take out the circuit board, it also tells you the type of battery CR2032, so it would be good to pick one up ahead of time.

Have fun!

Unlikely it is the battery. But doesn't hurt to try.

Pray it's the battery. The dealer will likely want at least $150 for a new one. A buddy of mine found this out when his XJ8 Vanden Plas key went through the washer/dryer.

I've put 2 cell phones through the wash so I couldn't laugh at him too hard.

Cheers,
Bal.
