Default Changing electric seat in 2006 S Type. Any help or advice please.

Hi
I have a 2006 S Type 3.0L SE with champagne (SEL) seat. It is electrically heated but only has the standard 2 electrical control buttons on it . What I want to do is find a used seat with the 16 way seat pack fitted and electrically heated of course. I suffer with chronic osteoarthritis and the lumbar controls would really help. My question is , as the various motors are all on the seat itself , would it be just a straight swap or is there a special electronics box that controls all the seat features making it therefore impossible to change just the one seat. I know its a tricky question but I would really benefit from changing the drivers seat.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Your best bet is to check the Electrical Guide carefully, see JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Whether things will be happy with just the driver seat that way, I doubt anyone knows but very possibly all will be OK. I don't know if you'd need to reconfig the car but if you do it shouldn't cost a lot at a dealer or indy.

Well there is a DDM (Drivers Door Module) that controls the seats. It may need programing to handle the more complicated seat. You might also need to swap the passenger seat for a more advanced one.

Not sure you can can mix the style of seats between passenger/driver.

Does your car have heated seats? That control is on the dash so not all the seat stuff is just on the seat.

I think we need a factory tech on this one?

Isn't it in the seat module?

The control is but the switch is on the dash so if he does not have the heated seat switch panel that feature won't work.

bit of a worry but if all the motors and switches are on the seat as they are, logically it makes sense that it should work.

Yes it sounds good. Next check if the electrical plug to the seat is different depending on the seats in the car.
