So I bow have another problem. I just put this new dccv in and I ran the car for a good 30 to 45 min. I then topped off the coolant.

Now I'm actually driving the car and it starts to over heat. Pull it over and pop the hood. A bunch of smoke and a bunch of coolant everywhere. Fill the coolant tank back and drove it around the parking lot. The car started to run hot again.

The car started to sputter and then shut itself off. I'm going to check my coolant line connections tomorrow. The sputtering of the engine and it continuously killing itself is kinda freaking ne out.

Any advice on why it may be sputtering. I just hope I didn't do any major damage. Reading through the forums ppl kept mention stuck closed thermostats.

Bleeding process depends on car details which you need to supply. See my sig.

edit: re-read from previous page (believe me people don't want to waste time doing that!) - be afraid, do not let it overheat as the V8 will warp the heads easily - I guess not bled yet?

No I didnt bleed it. ****...I was not able to locate where the coolant was coming from last night. Im guessing there is a overflow drain off somewhere.

Default Done

Well, replaced the DCCV with only slight frustrations and bashed knuckles... Could not have done it without the advice...
Removed the CCM and soldered in a fix across the burned out bit...
I can now get hot or cool air at will, however no A/C.... Clutch not engaging... I think it is low on gas so I'll be off to the A/C shop soon as I can to get the system tested...

Christmas shopping done and Jag fixed.... Successful Saturday as far as I am concerned.

Thanks again guys...

Cheers,

Default Fixed!!!!!

Pressure test OK....
Vacuum test OK

Regassed and all seals holding...

Compressor working fine, all electrics good!!!

New DCCV,
CCM disassembled and repaired,
Cabin sensors cleaned,
Heating system flushed,
Coolant replaced, and
A/C tested and refilled..

From nothing but hot air to a fully functioning system for less than $600 in parts, tools and gas (and the gas was half of that at $340!!!).

Thanks to all for the advice, tips and hints... You guys are great!!!

Now on to the next job.....

Cheers,

Default No Heat

Hi guys complete newbie on the forums, and since this is the most recent post regarding this matter i was just wondering if i could pick some peoples brains.

I Have a X Reg 2000 Jaguar s type 3.0 v6 that is not heat at all, But the air con works lovely.

After reading many of these forums and guides, I have yet to resolve this issue and since its starting to get a bit cold i would like to get them working before Christmas hopefully. So far i have already replaced the DCCV and the CCM (control module) i have also checked all fuses in all three fuseboxes, and 95%sure i have successfully bled the system for air bubbles.

Could anyone possibly be kind enough to point me in the right direction regarding this matter i will be very grateful.

Thanks
George

Your car has a specail bleed hose up by the power brake booster.

Did you bleed that?
