it is a non JLR download and will then scan any obd2 compliant car but not ABS, ARS, CATS , or TCM or any body modules for that matter
then when your done with ecm checking and want to scan most other modules
then re download JLR software. its easy as!
it took me months to find this out also as there engineer is non responsive .

is far as i can tell the i930 scans every module in the car my one any ways! manual scan is useless and causes non communication with the modules . auto scan gives codes for nearly every thing . heater servos , mirror motors , abs sensor faults and tells you witch one i.e LH/f .
also C.A.T.S faults, it also points you to the faulty corner of the car for that too .
and has awesome real time graphs . but will not scan the ecm without first down loading the generic OBD2 software.
no need to swap to icarsoft OBD2 software if you have a elm327 though . as jagv8 said they are very economical .i use both . i now have IDS/SSD thanks to cambo.
and have access to a vcm when i need it but haven't tried it yet .
ill be trying it out soon . to see how much better/comprehensive it is .

you can download the obd2 ecm software on the icarsoft website to do only ecm .

i have never done it for two reasons .
1/ i only have apple not windows .
2/ i have an elm 327
that was just the information given to me by icarsoft tech support .
it was no easy feat to acquire that information ether . it may have been BS just to stop me hounding them for answers . there tech support is bloody useless.

Old thread but trying to reset the auto-leveling headlights on my 2005 STR without going to the dealer.
Datasports you seem to have used it a good bit. Is there any head light or light module on the module list?
Any scanner that can do this outside the big ones like the SSD-Mongoose-JLR stuff?

it would be worth checking for a code . but my guess would be if the lights are not leveling correctly you most likely have one or more broken plastic adjusters with in the headlights , as mine were when i purchased my car.
its a solid days work to do both head lights .
there could also be an issue with the ride hight sensors attached to your lower control arms (wishbones) .

That's what I wanted to find out. I want to buy the scanner and the LR II is the updated version of the i930 unit. It's about $160 and by the time I pay the dealer and spend all the time it takes to make an appointment and then go I think the scanner will be a cheaper overall? Plus I get a scanner!
I am currently rebuilding both HID lights from the ground up. New steel pivots from Poland. New HID low and Halogen high beam bulbs. New turn and park light bulbs and finally a good sand and buff of the lenses followed with XPEL headlight protectors.
No the problem with the self leveling lights is if the car is powered up and either headlight is disconnected you will lose the programming and set one or more likely multiple head light error codes. They will be in the range of B2602-B2618. As you know B codes are not that easy to read and not many scanners can see them. So I was hoping you had seen the headlight stuff in your i930 scanner.
If you have any of these errors the start up sweep will not be done. I have had this happen twice to me as I have had two accidents and broke the drivers side light the first time and then broke the passenger side light the second time.
It appears that clearing the headlight codes will allow the start up sweep again and then you can adjust the lights level.

Just got a response from the vendor.
The i930/LR II will NOT reset the self leveling headlights.
Datasports can you clear the headlight codes? Sound like you have seen it?
It seems there is no calibration and when a code is set the headlights just stop doing any leveling until the errors are cleared.
Just heard and read so much trouble with the Mongoose. A lot of clones that don't work 100%.
