Default Check engine "light"

Well its been a eventful 4 days, I broke the air box hold down clips on my new 2006 R and then tonight I noticed the check engine light is on

Generally speaking I would assume this would mean a visit to the *********** but by chance does anyone have a comment on something that I could check first...........the things I have done are remove the air box like 3 times and remove the top plastic cover over the engine, I have not even put gas in the R yet !

I have not looked in the manual as I would assume it will say take it in to have a 'qualified" tech look at it, any suggestions !

Thanks all,

Scott

Without knowing the codes I would venture to guess it has to do with your airbox not having those clips to seal the intake properly. If you dont have a warranty run up to autozone or some autoparts store and have them pull your codes for free and post up what they are.

10-4 on Vances suggestion to pull codes. ..Likely lean condition due to open air filter box.

Gents,

Good catch on the air box problem and the possibility of running lean and setting a code. For the most part the box is sealed (bungie cord-duct tape) but I have a concern about letting the dealership see this !

I have warranty til 2012

"For the most part"? Needs to be sealed 100%.
