Check engine Light came on last night

Welcome to the forum,
You won't get a useful answer without giving the code that caused the light to come on.
If you go to Autozone or one of the other stores they will check for free, make sure to get the actual number not just their diagnosis.

There might be several. Ask the guy to erase the codes (the CEL should then go out) and see if the problem comes back. If it does, re-read the code(s) and start troubleshooting.
There's thousands of reasons why the CEL will illuminate, virtually none of which would be cured with an old fashioned 'tune up'.

o2 sensors can be easy or hard. If they are corroded in they are hard, if they come undone easily they are like replacing a spark plug. I think your car has 4 so make sure you are going after the faulty one. Most good mechanics can do o2 sensors but it sounds like a good time to find yourself a mechanic who does Jags. There are some good independents out there, they need good diagnostic equipment and experience with Jags if possible.

do you know if its bank 1 or 2? or sensor 1 or 2?
The O2 after the cat (sensor 2) should not release a flashing light and rarely impacts the actual driveability of the vehicle.
If you know how to jack up your car (or drive it up on ramps), you can switch out the O2 sensor. The sensor itself will cost around 70-90 bucks and paying a shop to do it will be a ton of $$ rather than the 10 min it takes to do it youself.

Quick google search led me to: P0133 Jaguar - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1
If this is the case, it was the same one that I had. I ordered my O2 sensor off of Amazon, and it was a DIRECT fit. The O2 sensor needs to be unclipped on one end and bolted in on the other.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41zvzwsY58L.jpg
When you jack up the car, you need to undo I believe 3 nuts/bolts on each side that holds the rear engine cover on. I only undid those nuts and had the engine cover droop down on the rear while still being held onto on the front.
From there, you can see the oxygen sensor (the one that comes BEFORE the catalytic converter). I sprayed it with some PB blaster to loosen the O2 sensor/rust, and it just bolted right off. Unclip the electrical connection. Take the new o2 sensor and do everything in reverse. There's a writeup here that is very useful, let me try to find that for you.

Above are the sensor numbers that will help you locate which one you need to replace. Bank 1 is the passenger side (America) and Bank 2 is the driver side (America).
So here it is.
This is the exact O2 sensor that I bought to replace my faulty one. It is a direct OEM replacement. No need to modify anything. Plug and play.
This is the tool that I have to take off the O2 sensor. Buy this if you're planning on doing it youself. Seriously lol.
Also pick up something called PB blaster at your local hardware store. I use that to spray it onto the O2 sensor where it bolts into the exhaust. Helps loosen it up to make removal easy.
LMK if you have any other questions.
