Speaking of New Jersey, apparently one of the "Housewives of New Jersey" was a tad optimistic on what her and her husband's income would be and got in debt to the tune of around $12M or so. Apparently $79K plus 120K from family members per year doesn't go as far as it used to.

I am a little curious about that myself. Just a cursory debt to income ratio check should have disqualified them from getting one house, let alone three. The credit card companies apparently were asleep at the switch as well. Maybe they just got more credit cards to pay off the first ones. Then the Escalade...how did they qualify for a $1000 per month payment? Looks like a case study in how to ruin an economy with greedy bankers in cahoots with idiot customers.

And yes, reality shows are crap. So is tv for that matter!

78,000mile and all that wear on the steering wheel? Mine's done 120,000mile and has NO wear on the steering wheel. Something not quite right there. Along with the 2-tone color scheme which in UK would have to be resprayed to sell it. Shows you can't use the color scheme from the inside for the outside. Over here we would imagine this to be a Californian car from its brassy looks.

As a former Californian, no way. A CA car would more likely be a matte color. Two-tone, NJ or FL.

I still think having two looks odd. Like you had a leaper, and then added a grille from another year, or vise-a-versa.

Sorry, JOsworth, but we're both wrong. It looks like they used them both on starting in 2003. All the 99-02s only have the leaper. I have an 01 S and only have a leaper.

Here is an early UK car...

On the button Mr. King, they tried to get the ornament off my 1996 XJ6, unsuccessfully, as it was affixed too well. They bent the bonnet slightly though. We call them "chavs" here, the UK punks are a fashion trend from 1976 (punk-rockers) which obstinately won't go away even now.
Strikes me the number plate 18 VVV might fetch more than the car now!

I know in some states the plates stay with the car here, but otherwise in most states, like mine here in NJ, the car is issued new plates. Although at least here in NJ you do have the option of transfering you existing plate (from your old car) to your new car, if you are doing a trade, (or part exchange as its known on your side of the pond) . There is no way to transfer a plate across two different owners, period.

Well, my bad, I didn't go back to the early cars. So, here is the skinny...The S was actually not designed for a leaper at all..North American cars get one anyway... So, the early cars in the UK had a badge mounted to the hood where the leaper would be. For the 03 and up cars the badge moved to the grill and the hood had no hole. For some reason Jaguar felt that the leaper was needed on North American cars therefore all years got one..
