Default Chrome trim

I have a question. I have only had my 2005 S-Type for about a month now. I keep noticing that the chrome trim keeps turning dull. I will wash the car and get everything looking good and then the trim seems to dull in places. Is this a common problem or just an issue with my car? Is there a solution?

Here you go: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-29860/

Since I have posted the above, some members swear that they have used some miracle metal polish that worked for them, sorry I cannot remember what or where on this site it is posted.

I had tried everything as I mentioned in the post and I resorted to the pro's. They came out purrrfect!! Still to this day I hit them once a year with Mothers Aluminum Polish and get that mirror look.

Good luck

The only trim on our S-Type that dulls/discolors is our window trim. Rick's solution is elegant, but expensive for a purely cosmetic issue. I've found that a good coat of plain old carnauba paste wax restores our window trim to its normal appearance. In cold weather, my wax coat may last 30 to 45 days before the dullness reappears. In hot weather, the dullness returns much more quickly, sometimes within two weeks. But the carnauba wax fix is cheap, easy, and takes me less than five minutes. So I'll continue to solve the problem this way for as long as it works....
