Hi, Our S-Type 2000 V8 air-con is blowing hot air only, have had the gas checked and it's ok, been told it maybe the TX Valve/Switch any idea's out there, and where is theTX located under dash ??, Thanks in advance for any help, been mid forty's the last week and they say hotter later this week.
Cheers Chuck.

Partly depends whether you really mean "hot air" or "ambient air." If you truly mean it blows hot air, then I'd say water valve and/or climate control module. Plenty written here on it that when the water valve fails, it can short a trace or two on the module board and then you get hot air, even with a new valve. I'm just not sure if the 2000's were similarly effected.
If it is just "not cold" rather than hot, then your a/c pressures should tell the story. Fortunately, the TXV us a pretty reliable bit of gear - because they are rarely stuck out on the firewall anymore where they are easy to change, more likely buried behind the dash.

I agree.
The heater valve is #1 suspect in all X200 versions of teh S Type.
The PCB is not as problematic as the later X202 onwards versions.
Check fuse #1 in the engine bay fuse box. It is the supply for that valve, and if it blows, the valve defaults to FULL on.
The heater vale is NOT fun to replace, but again. is #1 cause of too much, or not enough heat on these earlier cars.

Do this.
Put a thermometer in center vent, drivers side. Get ambient temp outside. Turn AC on set temp to LO and recirc.
Run for 5 mins. Get vent temp. If ambient temp ensure your AC pressures are good (have to check both low and high side pressures and compare to ambient temp) ensure AC clutch is operating.
If vent temp is higher than ambient temp then more than likely your DCCV is stuck "open" requiring replacement.
