Cigarette / Ashtray cover broken

it's quite a big job, the ashtray is held in by screws only accesable when you remove the center consol.

Some of the early 2000MY S-Types needed to have the console modified to accept the newer ashtray lid latch.
You used to have to replace the whole assembly but now the individual components for the ashtray are available.(including the lid, just have your trim code handy when ordering)
Here is a TSB. You might need to modify the console if you need to trim the area around the new latch.
It is not difficult as noted by the warranty time allowed by Jaguar.
The first one might take between 30 and 60 minutes.
You get faster with subsequent repairs. (I did a bunch of these 'back in the day')
