Default Cleaning the MAF, is it necessary after changing out Air Filter???

Quick question about using a MAF cleaner by "CRC" which I got from Advanced Autoparts. Is this safe to use on cleaning my 03' STR? I have to remove the MAF out with the torque screws is that correct and spray the filiments down with the MAF cleaner? I'm going to be replacing my Air filter so i thought I would clean out the MAF sensor but Im not sure if I disconnect the MAF cable, will I have to clear the code/s if any pops up?? Or there will be no error code even If I detach the MAF cable and clean it out?

No it is not necessary at all, the MAF sensor is pretty sensitive, and cleaning it will already affect its operation. There is a relatively wide margin in which the MAF can operate, which is also why cleaning it once doesn’t generate issues. Only think about cleaning if you have good reasons to doubt the operation of your MAF, however best is always to have then a new one installed.
