I have been paging through this thread and had a question, please.
Most of the S-Type\LS\TBird exchanges discussed seem to be concerning the pre-2004 S-Type. Were there enough changes to the 2004 m.y. that nothing interchanges with it anymore?
A lot did change then, well 2002.5MY (2003MY USA). A few more in 2004 and each later year. Many electrical (car networks, modules, etc), suspension, etc. Introduction of 2.5, 4.2 NA and 4.2 SC. (Later, 2.7D)
But... the LS didn't get those changes, I gather. Don't know if the TBird got any.
I'm sure there are plenty of common parts, but who'd know or has checked....
just to add to the fuel pressure sensor /
there is one other aftermarket brand , it may be just re packaged .
AIRTEX 5S12389
and this is the current ford part no# available .
genuine ford OEM 3R3Z 9F972 AA .
Airtex is a Ford OEM, so it is possible Airtex is Ford's source for the part. The Airtex AW4124 water pump is the same part Jaguar supplies as a replacement for most V8s from 1997-2009, and the Airtex ignition coils Jaguar sold for as replacements for the OE Densos in the X350 were actually marked "FoMoCo" (Ford Motor Company).
Ok Guy's I'm going to be building up a database of Crossed Referenced Ford Parts That I and others here have successfully used in our Jaguars. Ford's Parts tend to be 1/2 the price or less of the Jag Equivalents, And have much greater availability both due to the larger ford dealer network, as well as online.
So far I've sourced the DCCV, Intake manifold upper and lower gaskets, wheel studs, Oil Pan gasket for the 3.0, and a few other items.
Please feel free to contribute or ask questions, as well as help possibly tracking down other parts.
Now onto the known parts list:
DCCV's - Dual Climate Control Valves:
2000-2002 Model Year (5 hose valve): Motorcraft part # YG355 , Jaguar Part # XR8-22975
2003 - 2008 Model Year (3 Hose Valve): Motorcraft part # YG378, Jaguar Part # XR8-40091
Lifeguard 6 (Shell M1375.4 mineral oil) ZF Fluid that our 6-speed transmissions use. Jaguar parts departments typically sell it for around $55 to $60 per liter. ZF Customer Service recommends buying this ZF Fluid from a national chain called Whatever It Takes Transmission Parts. Their website is www.wittrans.com and their toll-free phone is 877-634-5699. As of early April 2010, their closest branch to me was selling this ZF Fluid for about $38 per litre....
Well the problem you have is the Lincoln LS and the early S Type both used that sorry hydraulically driven fan. So you need to look at the 2nd gen S Type/Lincoln LS when the factory went to electrical cooling fans..
It's been done but it's not plug and play. I would recommend you do some searches on the S Type forum and the Lincoln LS forum for people who have done this modification.

Replaced the rear links and front bushes on my '05 R with parts purchased from local Autozone. Common to Ford Thunderbird which essentially uses same chassis as the S type.
the a/c compressor for the Lincon LS 3.0 and the Jaguar s-type 3.0 are the same;and the Lincoln LS 3.9 and the Jaguar s-type 4.0 are the same at least they are the same on the 2001 models.
Can can someone please confirm that the compressor for the Lincoln LS 3.0 will fit my Jaguar S-Type 3.0. my compressor went out on my way home from work, in Arizona it was about a 110° outside. I did have the mechanic look at it, it is a compressor the bearings are going out. Just need confirmation that if I buy the Lincoln LS compressor it will be a cross reference for my Jaguar.TYIA

Hi Paula,
If you will check rockauto.com for the compressor part numbers for a 2003 S-Type 3.0L and a 2003 Lincoln LS 3.0L, you will see that most of the compressors they offer are the same for both cars. The exceptions are the Nissens compressors offered for the Jaguar and the Motorcraft compressor offered for the Lincoln.
But since the prices are the same for any given compressor, you may as well specify your Jaguar in your order in case you subsequently have a warranty claim.

Thank you, Don!! I ordered the parts from Rockauto.com, they do cross reference. I ordered the compressor kit & a new condenser. Btw, much more cost effective than ordering from AutoZone or O'Reilly's Auto Parts.
I am looking for a left front steering knuckle for a 2005 x type. Is there a cross reference part number? Thanks
Hi Ken,
It's quite likely that the same steering knuckle was used on the Mk. 3 Ford Mondeo, and possibly other front-wheel-drive Ford models. The Jaguar part number is C2S46814, according to Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts:
You may be able to find a Ford Motorcraft or FoMoCo equivalent by researching sources for Ford parts in the U.K. It is also possible that the same part was used on mid-size FWD Mazdas.
There are also many salvaged parts available on eBay.
Per Dorman, the direct Ford cross reference is 3F2Z-15K859-BA. So if you want a genuine Ford part, that number should theoretically work. If you need a make/model, search for an '02 Ford Explorer.
Radiator Reservoir Update: The clip IS purchasable by itself!

That's the real problem because Jaguar does not service just the clip.

So this caused me to look into it further and I think the answer is YES! The clip at the back of the overflow reservoir is called a:
#31799 Febi Bilstein C Clip
The Febi C clip from the back of the Radiator Overflow Reservoir.
FYI. The aforementioned and now obselete information of the heater hose does not imply that all FEBI connections which utilize the FEBI C clip are identical.
The heater hose containing the Chevy Cruze's FEBI connection did not mate with the back of the S-Type's Overflow Reservoir.

Reason: addendum
I "think" the Jaguar part has the wire ends bent in the same direction on both ends?
The above one has them bent in opposite directions? It's been too long since I worked with the top tank and retaining clip so I maybe wrong?
Can anyone check or verify how the clip wire ends are bent?
I know there are a lot of these type retainers out there but so many sizes too.

Careful with this clip. Mine sprung off and disappeared into the engine compartment during a cooling/heater service. I tried awfully hard and found something that was close but in the end the actual diameter of the wire was very slightly smaller in diameter. This caused the fitting to leak a bit. So I just bought another hose from Jaguar and safety wired the clip so that it could not be lost. I highly recommend doing this.
