Default continental dw's

i am posting this here cause it gets way more response than wheel/tire page.. i am looking to get input from str owners who have these tires on their cars, i am curious to know what you had before you put these on and comparisons and like n dislikes of these before i spend the $850 for them

Continental Extreme DW: (wet 7/10) (dry 8/10)
None of these tires are intended for snow or cold weather use. When expecting snow, I suggest leaving the car parked or get another set of wheels and tires. I went with a slightly wider rear tire rear 285/35/R18s and stuck with 245/40/R18s for the front for the last two sets of tires.

High Speed Handling-
Continental Sport Contact: (wet 7/10) (dry 8/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (wet 10/10) (dry 8/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (wet 8/10) (dry 8/10)

Appearance-
Continental Sport Contact: (sidewall 8/10) (tread 8/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (sidewall 9/10) (tread 10/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (sidewall 5/10) (tread 8/10)

Summary of Continental Extreme DWs after more than 15K miles they are working well on my STR. They are very quiet and the amount of tread remaining is just amazing.

I considered the Continental DW and chose the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL from Tirerack for $660. Everything I wanted. Quiet, excellent dry and wet performance. They replaced a very noisy, rough riding set of NEXEN tires.

My advice is worth exactly what ya paid for it...

They are still working great for me and I highly recommend the Conti DWs. I consistently pull 1.9-2.0 second 60 foot times at the drag strip on test-n-tune days.
front: 245/40/18
rear: 285/35/18

It appears internet and mail-order places have the front tire size on national back order. Discount Tire has a great deal but I can't wait. I am leaving for vacation this weekend. Default Profile of 285/35/18 tire on my STR

Here's what 285/35/18 and 245/40/18 Continental Extreme DWs look like on OEM STR rims. The sidewall on front and rear tires are very close in height. The rear tires never rubbed even with 5 people in the car. The Toyo 285s were wider and never rubbed either.
