Coolant leaking, hose under supercharger.. YIKES
Hey guys its been a while, my jag was running cool until a week ago when i noticed a large amount of coolant in my garage. After searching the forums when i couldnt locate the leak (res tank was replaced about a year ago). Anyways after adding coolant.........driving about 20 miles then getting a coolant level low warning, refilling, I took it in to my mechanic. At first he mentioned the hose under the supercharger, which after my searching on the forums I was afraid of. Anyways he found a spot under the supercharger with a puddle of coolant.
Long story short, i was trying to get a good idea if the price for the repair is cool......He's charging 1700 & will be replacing all the hoses under the supercharger (he said there was 4)....is $1700 a decent quote?

I'd be worried. There is only 1 (one) hose beneath the supercharger. There is a lot of work involved as you have to take a lot of stuff off to get to it (huge pain). I still think the price is high, knowing what I know now (I am a backyard mechanic) I could get it done in 6-8 hours from start to finish using hand tools. So feel free to stop by and give me $1700 and I will do it for you
Old is on the left, new style hose is on the right. Hose was $14 on Amazon

Before jumping into this do a bit more troubleshooting? If you do change it consider changing the EGR valve to as it's right there and you most likely will have corroded bolts holding it on. The EGR tube is also known to rust out and leak. Don't want to go back into it again after fixing the hose! All your cost is in labor and gaskets.
As was posted above your mechanic is guessing? There is only one hose under the super charger.
Please pressure test the system when cold. The main symptom for the hose under the super charger leaking are red stains on the BACK of the engine. Puddles under the super charger can come from many sources since this is the low spot where all fluid will collect. Normally the hose under the super charger is a smaller leak and yours is pretty big but who knows the hose could have split?
I have had two coolant leaks on my 2005 STR and both of them put fluid under the supercharger. Both were $25 hoses that could be changed after removing the top tank. That's a whole lot cheaper!

Thanks for the responses. Yes there is 1 hose under the supercharger, but the mechanic suggested to change 3 more to save the headache in the future. Received a quote from another shop for $1500, they said to replace the 4 hoses as well.
Here's what I dont get though, both shops are charging me $200 for the hose, but the poster above said $14 on Amazon.....ummmmmmmm could I get a link?

Received my car back...hoses were replaced & all was good
Yesterday morning, stopped to grab some coffee & the check engine light appeared with a message of "restricted performance"...FML
Just dropped $1560 to have the hoses replaced, couple of gaskets, etc
Stopped by the jag mechanic & he pulled codes P0400, P0171, & 1111
He tightened the gas cap, reset the codes & warning message was gone. So i felt like an *** thinking that it was somehow related to the gas cap.
Anyways, sure thing last night driving same warning message popped up!
Would love to have some information before seeing him this afternoon...with my search thus far, looks like "hose on passenger side of engine compartment causing vacuum leak"
Does that sound right?

Didnt get a chance to physically see the codes this time, just going on what he told me (the trust is quickly diminishing) .
Car is being checked tomorrow, mechanic needed an air flow meter
Was driving the car this morning & received the "usual" check engine light & restricted performance. About 10 minutes into the drive, a Transmission Fault appeared.
