Hello everyone,


This is my first post. I have a question. I just picked up my S-type from the dealership after having some cooling systems fixed. However, it now seems the cooling fan runs constantly as soon as the car warms up EXCEPT when the heater is on full blast. Also, if the fan is running and I turn on the heat full blast, the fan shuts down. The 2 hoses that go into the thermostat housing unit, the top one is extremely hot to the touch while the bottom one is lukewarm/maybe a little hot, but safe to touch.


I was wondering if my problem could be either an air lock in the system (when I called the dealer, they told me to drive for a couple days) or, since I had a new thermostat housing put in by another, non-dealer party, maybe I have a thermostat stuck in the closed position?

By cooling system, I mean the engine outlet pipe was leaking coolant and was replaced.
