Hey, everybody. I'm new to the forum and Jags so please bear with my ignorance.

My wife's 2003 S-Type 3.0 all of a sudden won't run. The engine turns over and seems to initially fire but won't run. The dash display shows "Failsafe Engine Mode"'. There were no problems at all up to this point. She told me that she tried to replace a license plate bulb and shorted it. After that the car wouldn't run. I think I've convinced her to keep her cotton pickin' hands off. I checked fuses front and rear and everything seems OK. Anybody got any ideas?

 

Did you check the underhood fuses? Search this forum's posts for similar circumstances by keywording into the "Search Forum" box.

 

Yeah, I checked all of the under hood and trunk fuses.

 

what about the passenger compartment fuses located in the front pass, kick panel.

 

I kind of onced over the kick panel fuses but didn't see any that I thought were pertinent.

 

The bulb thing might just be a coinsidence.
When my 01, 3.0 did this same thing the fuel pump was gone.

 

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I will pull the rear seat and check the pumps. Seems like the only logical move at this point.
