Question Cruise Control

i have a problem with my cruse control.

my set/+ and - buttons dont work.

On, off and resaume work, but its set at 60mph which was when i was on an a road and too slow for the motorway.

Would it be a fault at the steering wheel controls ? would blasting them with compressed air help ? or would it be something costing money

Thanks

The electrical guide will show how they are wired so I'd start there. Neither working isn't so good. When I got my car I had one that was "iffy" but using it regularly has fixed it so it was likely dirt or lack of use.

I find your resume more than odd. All the cars with CC that I've ever driven had no memory across ignition off, so Resume did nothing until you used Set (or an equivalent, such as + ). My STR is like that.

i havent tried the resume since the buttons stopped working, i was on an a road the last time +/- worked and then when i was on the motorway only resume worked, it was all the same trip. not tried resume since as i have not been on suitable road only tried set button at about 50mph and it doesn't work.

hope this makes sense.

The symptoms point very much to the clock spring. This is located behind your steering wheel. It also passes the rest of the steering wheel control signals on so look for problems with the radio/phone buttons too. It doesn't always happen but can be another clue to the problem.

Yes it's in the JTIS. You remove the steering wheel and it's right there. About $125.

You can remove and clean the ribbon but I would just replace. Also you can remove and clean the steering wheel switches too. They have on occasion caused problems.

Your symptom is a bit strange because as others have said your car should not remember the speed after cycling the ignition?
