Cruiser Control Not Working

Cruiser Control Not Working
Dear All
I have just created my login at Jaguarforums so I am sorry if this topic has been already discussed previously.
I will buy my first Jaguar in few days from now and I am quite excited by finally being able to accomplish this dream!
The model thar I am probably buying is a S-Type 2006 4.2 V8 (not the R model)
The car has only 18,000km what is fantastic in my point of view, nevertheless I have noticed in one of the pictures a pannel message saying; "Cruiser Control not available" in portuguese "Piloto Automatico Não Disponível".
My question is: should I worry about this problem? What are the possible impacts in the car out of this issue and what tests should I make this friday when I will drive the car? Finally what is the possible cost to get this fixed?
Please help me, I will probably pay few extra $ considering the low mileage of the car so I definitivelly need to understand the extend of this issue with "cruiser control not available"
Thanks in Advance for tbe help and congratulations for the forum!!'
Cheers

It indicates a fault. It might be simple to fix or not, because it can be caused by any of a long list of things.
It can even be due to a battery that is low voltage (needs charging or replacing).
If you do not know a lot about S-Types (and their electronics and computers) I would ask them to fix the fault or I would not buy it.

Thanks for the quick answer.
To be honest it is quite rare to find jaguar with such a low mileage in my country so I definitivelly would like to buy it.
I have also a fantastic mechanical engineer that takes cares of all my cars so basically any issue can be fixed up if I buy the proper part.
The problem I have is:
1) The car is in another state so I will flight off to test it so I wont be able to go with my mechanic engineer
2) the seller is a not car store so is natural to depreciate the ammount paid in the car in case of problems, so basically what I need to know is what is the cost of the part for the worst case scenario (i assume the cruise control module could be the worst right)
3) is there a risk of this fail on the cruise control affect other important functions during driving? I honestly dont use many cruise control so this issue might not be relevant for me in case it stay restricited to cruise contol.
Thanks for a complete answer
Best Regards
Diogo

JagV8 is correct. There are too many unknown factors to determine whether the faulty cruise control is a simple, inexpensive fix or a symptom of something more complicated.
It is known that a discharged battery can cause this message to be displayed, but this is usually combined with other messages such as 'DSC not available' and 'reduced performance'.
Ask the seller what other messages are displayed. Ask them to charge the battery fully to see if this and other messages disappear.
