Misfires in my car were quickly fixed by installing new ignition coils. Two decided to go out literally two days apart. Not sure what exactly is going on with yours, but mine was fixed by replacing two coils and a full set of new plugs. But my 1997 Vanden Plas clearly indicated in its code that the misfires were due to the bad coils. I think numbers 1 and 2 (counting from the front end) went bad, probably because most heat is generated around that section of the engine. I bought my ignition coils at a very good price at rockauto dot com.

forget the coils, with a lean engine your gonna get misfires especially if IMT orings and or the breather elbows for the crankcase under the intake are leaking and based on an 11yr old engine I would go for those forst and then see what you have. To check for the lower breather elbow spray brake/carb cleaner between the intake runners on the back drivers side of the engine with the engine running. Personally I would replace it all without worrying about it since theyre common issues

Your engine is essentially the same as shown in Rick's recent post https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-w-pics-52720/
