Default The Dancing Jag

2002 S-type 3.0 96k miles

The car seems to ride well on flat smooth roads, no excessive bounce or roll but as soon as i run into any bumps or potholes etc, the wheels bounce and chatter badly. its actually caused me to "dance" into another lane when it happens on a curve (and that ranks very high on the o'crap'o meter)

i have not done any suspension work on this car and am not aware of any that has been done by the previous owner. Since this is my first Jaguar I have no frame of reference, is this just normal for these cars to be bouncy?

NO, go have the suspension front and rear looked at.

I actually had the car in about a year ago for some minor body work, and asked them to check the struts, i was told they were still ok. I was wondering if anyone here has had, and corrected this problem and what they replaced. I did some forum searches but didn't seem to find too much on this issue.

You'd have to check all the suspension items. Something is very wrong from your description.

BTW, tire type (need to be suitable for the car), condition & pressure as well (tires are part of suspension, really).
