Angry Dash removal

reluctantly I have to pull the dash out to replace a leaking evaporator the JTIS says I need to remove the steering wheel, column and on and on, can i just unhook the wires and lower the column carefully down enough to avoid messing about with the wheel and column ? any other tips for getting the dash out ? other than patience Thanks for any advice!

Same problem here, i'm going to have to pull dash as well. My compressor has been changed but now mechanic says expansion valve has to be changed too. He is not willing to do it though. I stay in Surinam, South America. We don't have Jaguar dealers nor mechanics here. So i wanted to try it myself rather than shipping the car to another country. Any help would be so very appreciated.
