Does anyone know if the speedo cluster with the aluminum gauges (I assume it is one unit) from a 2005-08 S type fit into a 2003 S type R...and if so, is it model specific or will any unit from any S type do?
I really like the updated unit, as the one in the '03-04 looks very plain...

Good question. I saw someone on cardomain with an 03 cluster in a 00 S-Type. If an 05+ cluster can be flashed to work in an 03-04, then I would think it could possibly work in all years...
I don't know much about these cars yet (I'm new), but on most newer Ford products, you have to have the cluster flashed to work with your current PATS keys or reprogram the keys to work with the cluster. Mileage has to be reprogrammed as well since it's stored in the cluster rather than the PCM like some GM products - cluster swaps were plug & play on my Trans Am.
Although the 05+ cluster looks quite a bit different than the 00-04's - it looks like it has two lcd displays and other changes whereas it looks like only difference from the 00-02 and 03/04 was just the gauge faces.
Anyone know for sure?
