Default DCCV electrical coonector

Hello
i am finally lookign at the DCCV and have separared all hoses.I have pulled the red cover uback from the electrical connector but cannot figure out how to release it.I am supposed to push on something than pull the connector at the same time?
Help.

Hi Fitz. If no one comes to your immediate aid then keyword "DCCV" in the forum search feature and will dig up numerous threads on this issue. If you still haven't a clue then PM one of the principle posters on those threads. Don't worry, you'll figure it out in "no time".

Pull the red tab up. I believe there is a clip (I think the clip was under the red tab you can get to it after the red slide is raised) you have to push in on the clip while pulling up on the plug. I changed mine out a couple of weeks ago. The DCCV electrical plug was a pita. What I done; unbolted the DCCV after removing the hoses and got it as close to me as I could get so I could examine it.
Also I think I checked my replacement DCCV to see how the plug was clipped in.


I hope this helps? What was your DCCV problem?

The red tab slides upwards and releases the clip in. It's a lock so the connector doesn't back out when the car is in motion.
