Default Dead Battery alarm engaged no start

2000 S-type. My factory radio has the problem of still being on playing music when i take the key out of the ignition. I must have not made sure it was off and this morning my battery was drained. Now I can't jump it and make it turn over. When I first tried to jump it the lights flashed and the alarm light came on. I didn't even think about trying to disengage it because there was no sound. I put the key in and the lights came on but it would not turn over. I took the jump cables off and retried the process now it won't do anything at all. Help!!

Jumpstarting these cars involves a precise process that must be followed to the letter. If you don't follow the required process, you run the risk of damaging your car's electronic modules....

How to jumpstart your car is specifically described in your owners manual. Find that section, read it, and follow the directions carefully. Let us know if that makes any difference....

I hope you haven't already fried something in your electronics....

i totally unhooked the battery for awhile and the next time i hooked the cables up i closed the doors and held down the button on the trunk that lets you know when the boot is open or closed and then at the sametime disengaged the alarm with the fob and then it was all good to go

you have a worn out ignition barrel.. get the battery charged and order a barrel.. they were out.. and when you shut the car off the key comes out before the ignition is fully switched off.. they were known for this problem..
