greetings, I have a 2000 s-type, looks pretty but stopped running, just quit. Only thing that works is the radio and powerseats. nothing else works. battery good, belt is tight, turn the key, nadda, no lights, no horn, no windows, no fan, no anything? Any ideas?

Thank you Jag Breeder and bfsgross. I checked battery to chassis, I have good voltage. I checked voltage in luggage compartment fuse for ignition and got a good reading also. I don't have a digital meter but the needle jumped right up to twelve volts. Jiggled all the exposed wires from the battery and fuse box, inspected for any obvious signs of burn, corrosion, brittle, nothing, all seems good in the trunk.

only had a little time due to work and rain ( the car is outside). The trunk is dry, ever had any water in it. did the negative lead contact with the positive post of battery, no change. Can't get to starter yet, maybe tomorrow if it doesn;t rain and i can jack it up. where are these power modules I'm to check? My 64 E-type with positive ground and lucas electric was easier than this. I like this car, i'm just baffled.

Its not going to be a connection to the starter. That doesnt explain ALL the power being out. that only explains why it wont start. It sounds like you have a bad connection to a power distribution block or some kind of blown fuse/relay like bfsgross said.
Possible security problem, but since ive never had it happen im not sure what it locks out from working besides the starter. You can always use your spare key to see if maybe your chip in your key went bad?

You know something, that was one of my first thoughts but the radio threw me. Now I need to figure how to get up to the ignition to test it. I took the panel off below it and there appears to be a frame member of some kind in the way. It looks like it goes behind the center panel with the radio. I really appreciate all this help folks.

Hi - Had similar problem with mine, sometimes all signs were there but no starter turning ??? by switching the key on and off vigorously it would then kick in. I sprayed the ignition key barrel with contact cleaner several times whilst moving the key and lots of yukky cr-p washed out - I then lubricated it with WD40 and again switched on - off loads. It went well for a couple of days then did it again I repeated all the above and it has not done it since, and it has now been months. Worth a try

Some spray it with WD40 but graphite is better for a long term fix
